(150 ill., 70 in colour & b/w).
Publication in honor of the two-week installation in Jacob L. Loose Memorial Park October 1978 by Christo, in which he used 136,268 sq. feet of gleaming gold-saffron nylon to cover 104,836 sq. ft. of the park's pathways. The installation lit up the paths like a sunset river, that for those who experienced the park's literal "glow-up" transformation, remained an unforgettable trace on the space long since it had been pulled away. This book was designed by artist Christo, and includes work documentation photos by Wolfgang Volz, letters and tables planning the physical occupation of the project, and fabric samples that leave a tactile trace memory for those who can only experience the installation through this text, in imagination, which as it comes together as the project here, is testament to its own enduring kind of real.
