This memoir is a multivalent celebration of a multivalent career from the dancer, choreographer and filmmaker, Yvonne Rainer. Collaging diary entries, letters, program notes, script excerpts, and image reproductions from her life and work, in snapshots and enhanced film stills. The artist emerges as a mosaic of creative acts and company, with the intersection of dance, archive, and the artist's unique perspective embodied by the book itself, in its dance from resource to image to anecdote for the reader who can feel the messages implicit to the text, without whom would be a catalogue of facts.
