Newport Beach. Newport Harbor Art Museum. 1989. First Edition. Softcover, with original show pamphlet.  144pp. (ill. in colour & b/w). Fine.

"Los Angeles is a city intoxicated with the intellectual and esthetic pleasures of an exploding and expanding visual art community.”

Established as the cinema capitol of the world, LA eventually, and naturally, grew into one of the global centers for the visual arts. All nine featured artists explored common themes of our ‘media-based new reality’ that resides as the common thread throughout these individuals who to varying degrees, have been associated with the Pop Art movement – Baldessari’s intentionally ironic commentaries on the movement, or Robert Dowd’s use of obvious Pop imagery and direct references to the financial forces at play.
