with their own reality"
This is a volume of Duane Michal’s black & white photographs and handwritten poems, inspired by the persistent ritual of sleep and the dreaming that comes (and doesn't). In facsimile reproductions that fix the frenzy of those dream-thought scrawls into place on the page, Michal offers a meditative collage of not only the idea of sleep, but the concept of trying to recall "Dreamland." There, he finds new vistas for his past and future; taking us through the symbols and themes that recur in dreamspace. Family, memory, temporality, inheritance, disappearance, death––all that comes up in the dark, in that most intimate relationship one has with oneself.
