Nationalmuseum's collection of Lindberg's individual ceramic works, including his signature porcelain designs ornamented with whimsical leaves and colorful patterns, without straying from the appreciation of beauty in the everyday, sought to spark conversations on artistic independence and the corporatization of original designs. Lindberg's household objects undoubtedly hold an appreciable artistic value, but 20th century copyright protections were not afforded to his utility designs. His ceramic teacups and vases have been mass produced and copied, and the Stockholm show takes a step in reclaiming the individuality not only of Lindberg's work, but of commercial art everywhere.
