This series of texts by artist Barbara Kruger uses the evolution of media to question what an increasingly buzzword and image-saturated existence does to overwhelm those who aren't seen or heard. In these essays and reviews, mostly written in the 1980's, Kruger was already pointing to the ones missing from the picture, considering the individuals, ideas, and parts of ourselves a "world of appearances" has the power to disappear.
