Drawn from a performance piece Gold conducted at Mills College, during which he conducted a 12-hour conversation with a 'Mr. Computer' (a KIM-1, 6502 MP system with 1K of memory). His conversation is re-performed on the page by presenting a text-in-translation: glyphs of a 'special cartoon speech' only he and Mr. Computer are 'fluent in' are made legible by his handwritten (English) notations in the margin. A founding member of The League of Automatic Music Composers (which would come together the following year), this is an early and incredibly rare print experiment already playing with technology and ideas of conversion, temporality, visibility and programs that "play" on the page.
